Karin is an associate attorney with Butler Hodge Moss focusing on criminal and family law.
Prior to joining Butler Hodge Moss, Karin served as an Assistant Public Defender in Stafford County, Virginia, and an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Fairfax County, Virginia. She has successfully litigated a wide range of cases, such as embezzlement, shoplifting, drug possession, and DUI. As both a defense attorney and a prosecutor she focused her practice on domestic violence and family-related matters. Karin was the lead prosecuting attorney for intimate partner violence cases under a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. At Butler Hodge Moss, Karin continues her work in criminal defense and has expanded her practice to include family law civil matters such as divorce, protective orders, and child custody, visitation, and support.
All legal proceedings require an advocate with legal expertise. But Karin recognizes that it takes more than knowledge of the law to prevail. It is imperative that each client have a trusted advisor who can effectively communicate their story to the court. Karin strives to learn about each of her clients’ unique situations and work with them to create a case that combines a compelling narrative with legal expertise.
